Potholes killed my son – Nigerian dad lament

A Nigerian man identified as Ini Mbebeng, took to social media to share his grievances on how potholes on Enen Nsit road, Akwa Ibom State killed his son.

In his words, ‘the potholes on Enen Nsit which have been the decoration of Ikot Edibon to Ikot Etobo axis of that road from the first month after commissioning were left untouched for over a year until this week TO TAKE MY SON’S LIFE ON MONDAY 25TH MARCH, 2019. The company that did this side of the road should clap for itself’.

He added that, ‘surprised to see that 2 days after my son’s death some people were filling the potholes with cement and sand. I wonder if those materials were not available in the market for the past one year; ooh the company or government waited for them to be wide and deep enough to take a life and give others serious injuries’.

I have never been to Church – Bolanle Ninalowo

Despite the fact that Bolanle Ninalowo, aka Nino B, rarely speaks without mentioning God and how much he loves Him, the hunky actor revealed to Sunday Scoop that he had never been in a church.

He also stated that a lot of people are just religious without the love of God at heart. He said;

“I have never actually been to church to worship but I renew my covenant with God in my room. It has worked for me over the years, though I realise I may have to go to church at some point. However, I would feel more blessed worshipping with my wife because, without her, things wouldn’t be complete.”

“A lot of people out there are just religious but they don’t have the love of their creator in their hearts,” explained the actor. “If you love God, it will be exhibited in how you act, not by what you say. You can go to church or mosque every day but if you don’t love God and your fellow man, you are just deceiving yourself. I have an intimate relationship with my maker and that’s what counts. I communicate with Him regularly and He guides me accordingly.”

The School of Built Environment and Development Studies, University of KwaZulu-Natal is inviting applications for two PhD Scholarships for 2019. Scholarships are available for South Africa students.

OMG! Athlete Who Has Been Brain-Dead For 3 Months Gives Birth To Miracle Baby And Dies (Photo)

An athlete who had been brain-dead since December has given birth to a ‘miracle baby’ in hospital before passing away.

Catarina Sequeira A former international athlete, brain dead since December, has given birth to a baby boy in Portugal.  Catarina Sequeira, 26, a canoeist, gave birth to a baby boy called Salvador before her death after being brain dead for 56 days at the Hospital of St. John of Porto. It had been the doctors’ aim that she would reach 32 weeks, which would have been on Friday, but her condition deteriorated and the Cesarean section was brought forward to Thursday.  Her funeral was to be held on Friday at 2.30pm. The former athlete was put into an induced coma after she suffered an acute asthma attack at her home and was declared brain dead on December 26. She was 19 weeks pregnant when she went into the coma and for 56 days a ventilator kept her breathing so that Salvador could survive, the BBC reported. It was Portugal’s presumed consent laws which kept the baby alive, as well as the wishes of Miss Sequeira’s family. The hospital’s ethics adviser, Felipe Almeida, told the Observador: ‘Being a donor is not just about being in a position to donate a liver or heart or lung, but also being in a position to give yourself so a child can live.’ Miss Sequeira’s mother, Fatima Branco, said: ‘I have a bitter joy. I do not want to meet my grandson with this bitterness.’ She described how she could not fill the void of her daughter’s loss with her grandson, but would have to grieve and ‘close the chapter’ of her daughter’s life first. The infant was born weighing just 3.75lbs and will remain in the hospital for at least three weeks. This is the second time in recent years a child has been born to a brain dead woman in Portugal, in 2016 a child called Lourenco was born in Lisbon after surviving 15 weeks in his dead mother’s womb. ***Source: Daily Mail UK

Nnamdi Kanu Blows Hot, Vows Never To Allow FG Arrest Him In UK

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra has vowed he will not heed to the court order directing for his arrest in UK.

IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), says he will not allow the Federal Government arrest him in the United Kingdom as he has planned to challenge the order in the United Kingdom. The IPOB leader also tackled the federal government over his prosecution, insisting he is innocent of the accusations against him. A federal high court in Abuja had revoked the bail granted Kanu in 2017, after his continued absence in court. Binta Nyako, justice of the court, also issued an arrest warrant against the IPOB leader, citing the continued absence of the IPOB leader in court. Kanu, who is facing trial alongside other Biafran activists for alleged treason, had gone into hiding months after his bail only to reappear in Israel after one year. He then moved to the UK. Speaking during a broadcast on Radio Biafra, a recording of which was obtained by TheCable on Saturday, Kanu said he has instructed his lawyers to challenge the arrest warrant in a UK court.“The revocation of my bail will never ever hold; they can never convict us because we have done nothing wrong,” he said.“Every move they make, every decision they take, I will challenge. I have instructed my lawyers, we will challenge in a competent court of law here in Britain where law actually works. I am waiting for them.“Any day you instruct INTERPOL, that day I will take it up in court and they must answer because here is a civilised country.“First, I am not a Nigerian citizen. Your bail revocation will never ever work. Anybody interested in revoking my bail would have asked the army what they were doing in my place.” The IPOB leader said the cause for a sovereign state of Biafra is not a crime, and that the group — which has already been banned and tagged a terrorist organisation — will continue to advocate for its cause. “They have not even defined the crime they said I have committed. There is no crime in Nigeria called secession; secession is not a crime in Nigeria or anywhere in the world. Only armed rebellion is a crime, not self determination,” said Kanu.“If you are out to demoralise us, you will never ever succeed. We will continue to agitate; we continue to move forward because we are IPOB; we don’t relent and can never ever relent. Which crime did Nnamdi Kanu and his co-defendants commit? Somebody should name it. Secession is not a crime.”
